چکیده

Based on integrated system optimisation and parameter estimation a method is described for on-line steady state optimisation which compensates for model-plant mismatch and solves a non-linear optimisation problem by iterating on a linear quadratic representation. The method requires real process derivatives which are estimated using a dynamic identification technique. The utility of the method is demonstrated using a simulation of the Tennessee Eastman benchmark chemical process Copyright  2002 IFAC

Fuzzy Real-Time Optimization of the Tennessee Eastman Challenge Process

A Real-Time Optimization (RTO) strategy incorporating the fuzzy sets theory is developed, where the problem constraints obtained from process considerations are treated in fuzzy environment. Furthermore, the objective function is penalized by a fuzzified form of the key process constraints. To enable using conventional optimization techniques, the resulting fuzzy optimization problem is the...

On the use of multi-agent systems for the monitoring of industrial systems

The objective of the current paper is to present an intelligent system for complex process monitoring, based on artificial intelligence technologies. This system aims to realize with success all the complex process monitoring tasks that are: detection, diagnosis, identification and reconfiguration. For this purpose, the development of a multi-agent system that combines multiple intelligences su...

A Thermodynamic Based Plant-Wide Control Design Procedure of the Tennessee Eastman Process

In this work, we apply the systematic approach to plant-wide control design presented in [1], based on the fundamentals of process networks, thermodynamics and systems theory, to the Tennessee Eastman (TE) Challenge Process, deriving robust decentralized controllers that will ensure the stability of the complete plant. We take one step further in the control design procedure by completing it wi...

Identification of the Tennessee Eastman Chemical Process Reactor Using Genetic Programming

The Tennessee Eastman chemical process is a well-defined simulation of a chemical process that has been commonly used in process control research. As chemical process plants are getting more complex, the pressure on chemical engineers to develop accurate models for monitoring and control purposes is increased. In this paper, we explore the idea of using Genetic Programming (GP) technique to mod...

Plantwide Operability Analysis based on a Network Perspective: a Study on the Tennessee Eastman Process

Complex process plants increasingly appear in modern chemical industry due to the considerable economic efficiency that complex and interactive process designs can offer. Interactions between process units (e.g., material recycle and energy integration) often cause significant difficulties in plantwide control. As such, it is important to study plantwide operability (i.e., whether a plantwide p...
